San Antonio Golf lessons And Golf Instruction
Having trained under and instructed for an instructor who has worked with well over 150 touring professionals, including PGA Tour Money Leaders and US Open, PGA, and Masters champions, I offer the highest quality golf instruction and golf lessons at rates that aren't much more than what the typical instructor charges for their golf lessons. My San Antonio golf lessons are for both golfers living within driving distance of the San Antonio area and those coming from out of state.
The golf lessons are offered in half hour increments ranging from a one hour lesson up to a five hour lesson. The longer golf lessons are available to anyone, but are specifically offered for those who aren't local and the extended golf lessons can be arranged so that a person can custom tailor their own private golf school covering as many hours and days as they wish. For those local to San Antonio, I recommend spacing golf lessons out enough to allow for adequate practice and for the adaptation of the new technique before taking the next lesson. About once a month is a good interval between lessons for most but, of course, you can wait longer if you want.
During the instruction I'll analyze your swing by watching you hit balls into a net. If I feel video will be of help, or if you want it, I will film your swing, otherwise I won't waste any lesson time if not needed. I believe in thoroughly explaining things so that you understand what you are supposed to practice and why it is going to help you improve. For people taking longer lessons, either because they aren't local or they prefer their instruction in a school type format, I will cover multiple swing topics in one lesson. We'll finish off the remainder of the lesson with you learning to perform the new movement as well as possible, mostly while swinging in slow motion, but possibly also while hitting balls into a net if you can perform the movement reasonably well without a ball. During this phase of the golf lesson I will be working to help you get as comfortable and familiar with the movement as can be expected in such a short period, but you will need to practice as frequently as you can in order to make it better, and continue practicing to ingrain it.
My instruction choices will be based on a variety of swing styles—whatever I feel will be most appropriate depending on your improvement goals and capability, unless you already have a preferred style you would like to learn. There is no style of swing that is right for everyone and an instructor who has the knowledge to use a variety of styles is going to have a much greater chance of helping you improve than does an instructor who teaches the same style to everyone. Additionally, I can work with you on anything from putting and chipping to hitting draws and fades, although I suggest initial instruction focus on developing a solid golf swing. My goal with the San Antonio Golf Lessons and Golf Instruction is to help you get as much improvement as possible, but depending on the work you're willing to put in, I'll have to adjust the instruction accordingly!
- In this regard, there are several things I will need to know in order for me to be an effective instructor for you:
- 1) How much do you want to improve?
- 2) How much will you be practicing?
- 3) Will you be taking a number of lessons from me or will this likely be the only one?
The instruction I give you will be completely dependent on your answers to these questions. For instance, if you're likely to only take one lesson, I'll give you one or two simple swing thoughts that are easily understood. If, instead, I know that you're serious about improving and you'll be taking a number of lessons, the instruction will be very different—I can start you off with much more in depth, and more challenging, swing improvement concepts that I will build on and expand in future lessons in order to get the most dramatic improvement.
Students needing to schedule air travel can schedule lessons up to two months in advance and locals can schedule lessons up to three weeks in advance.
Please note, I do offer manipulation-free (Hogan golf swing fundamentals) swing instruction in hourly and private school formats, but this is a very specialized form of instruction for only the most dedicated golfers and the pricing is higher. San Antonio Golf Lessons and Golf Instruction is given at my teaching pavilion (see pictures below), which is located just north of San Antonio in Spring Branch, Texas. This is truly private golf instruction! There are no other golfers hitting or talking next to you, which means you will be able to concentrate completely on the instruction. The only distraction might be a wild animal passing by.
