The Book

Over the last few years I've been mentally formulating ideas and a structure for a book I've been wanting to write on golf swing fundamentals that were perfected by Ben Hogan. I believe these fundamentals to be the only true fundamentals of the golf swing and the reason I want to write the book is that no one seems to know what these fundamentals are.

As with my instruction, the book will be geared toward the serious golfer or the golfer who wants to be as good as he/she can be and is willing to work hard enough to reach that goal. That market is extremely small so instead of trying to publish through normal channels, I'll self publish and sell a few books a month via my website. Estimated price is $150, which is roughly the price of a one hour lesson. Expensive, yes, but it will contain much more information than I could possibly discuss in a one hour lesson, which isn't even an instruction option I offer, and it will be information you can't get anywhere else.

Hogan's Five Lessons, The Modern Fundamentals of Golf had severe limitations—Hogan gave readers the ideas and feels he used, but this is only helpful to golfers who have swings that are already very similar to the way he swung. In essence, Hogan explained his swing from his perspective with little regard to how a reader would use or respond to that information—he told you what he did and expected that to be sufficient. It is not!

My focus with this book is on how to get the key information across to the reader so that he/she can understand not only the movements, but what they have to do to be able to incorporate those movements into their swings.

I have purchased some property just north of San Antonio and until I have things in relatively good shape (hopefully by the end of 2007), I won't be working on the book. Once the book is complete, I have no clue when that will be, it will be a requirement that everyone purchase and study the book before attending one of my CE Golf Schools. This way you will have a good head start when you come for instruction and you'll have the book to help keep you on track afterwards.
